The Agia Zoni : A brave journey home

Max (Meshulem) Wassner worked passionately for the JNF for all his life. In recognition of his close association with the JNF, by kind permission of the JNF, a link to the organisation is included on this site so that those who wish to honour the memory of the brave escapees on the Agia Zoni may do so through the organisation

One of the organisers Max (Sami) Wassner worked passionately for the JNF. In recognition of his close association with the JNF, and by kind permission of the JNF, a link to the organisation is included on this site so that those who wish to honour the memory of the brave escapees on the Agia Zoni may do so through the organisation.

Most of the organisers were unable to take this journey to freedom because of their continuing rescue activities in Europe and we do not know how many survived the Holocaust that was to sweep through Europe a few month later.

I dedicate this site to the memory of my grandfather Max, as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the Holocaust and during this journey and in other similar voyages out of war torn countries.

If you would like to add any more personal stories and information about these times please email me at info@aliyabet.com
